It is thought that skin is the most important organs of the human body. In addition, it also acts like a cover that covers an organism to provide protection from injuries on outer surfaces and helps regulate thermal conditions and provides experience. Human skin is developed and dynamic; therefore much importance should be given that eventually leads to devoted attention toward its active performance and functionality.
Anatomical Structure of Human Skin
1. Epidermis This is the outermost layer that gives waterproofing tendency towards skin.
2. Dermis The middle layer accommodates blood vessels, nerve endings along with hair follicles.
3. Hypodermis: It is the innermost one comprising of adipose cells as well as connective tissue. Human Skin Functions Human skin acts as a protective agent against disease-causing agents, UV rays, and outer pressure.
2. Thermoregulation: sweat evaporation and vasoconstriction or vasodilation.
3. Dermatological organs : reception of touch, pressure, temperature, and pain due to the presence of nerve endings.
4. Fluid Balance : a part in the computation of fluid loss as well as fluid gain in human skin
5. Immune Response : Langerhans cells comprise the immune response .
